Got Guests Coming Over? Here’s How To Prepare Your Home For Their Arrival!

Welcome Back Boo,

It’s finally the weekend!!

Inviting guests to your home is one of those things you instantly regret. After the excitement of inviting them is over, you slowly realize that you’ve actually just asked people to your home. This means they will see your home, this means they will judge your home, and this means you need to get straight into action and prepare your property for their presence. If you’ve got guests coming over this weekend, or maybe plan on having some round in the future, then here’s how you get your home ready for their arrival.

De-Clutter Like Crazy

Everyone’s guilty of having a bit of more clutter here and there in their home. Or, in some cases, your home is more clutter than actual living space! Regardless of how messy your home is, any mess is considered too much when you have guests round. So, get started de-cluttering every room so you can make your house look more presentable. As well as showing your guests that you don’t live like a hoarder, this will also help maximize the space in each room, making your home appear much larger than it may be!

Make It Smell Gorgeous

Under no circumstances do you want someone to think your home stinks. News will soon spread around your friendship group that your home has a strange smell and constantly whiffs of stale food. As a consequence, you need to make sure your house smells absolutely divine. There are plenty of ideas you can run with here. One popular choice is to buy scented candles and light them before your guests arrive. Another idea is to get a scent diffuser machine, like the one on, and use that to subtly fill your home with natural smells. Alternatively, you can buy flowers and strategically place them around your house to improve the smell. Either way, just make sure your house smells gorgeous!

Clean It From Top To Bottom

Lastly, you need to make sure you clean your home too. It’s all well and good having a tidy home that smells nice, but if you’ve got thick layers of dust on all surfaces, and grime on your walls, then it’s not going to create a very good impression. This is probably the worst part of preparing your home for guests as it takes the longest and requires the most elbow grease. As my way of saying thanks for reading this blog post, I’ll link a video to some cleaning tips below this paragraph for you to have a look at. Hopefully, that’ll help you clean your home more effectively – and a lot more quickly too.

As you can see, there’s a lot of work that goes into preparing your home for guests. Even if they’re just popping around for dinner, it’s well worth getting your house in a reasonable condition. I’m sure you’ve all been in situations where you’ve been invited to someone’s house, and it turns out to be a bit of a mess. You feel equal parts embarrassed and a little bit smug that your home isn’t as bad as theirs. This is precisely what you don’t want your guests to feel like when they come to yours!

Remember to keep on slaying,

See you next time xoxo
