How To Get Your Family More Involved With Fishing

Welcome Back Boo,

Happy Thursday!

When you spend a lot of your free time at the lake, one of two things is going to happen. While you’re always going to be happy that you’re spending time doing something you love, you may feel guilty. You may feel guilty that you’re just not spending enough time with your family. But at the same time, you may have pressure from your wife that you’re never around. Or your kids may even start to ask to see you more. So, one way to ensure that doesn’t happen, is to get your family more involved with fishing. Plus, when fishing is your biggest passion, it’s only natural that you’re going to want to share it with the people you love the most. So let’s consider ways that you can do exactly that.

  1. Teach The Kids Locally

So first up, you might want to give your kids some lessons. Maybe they’re interested in your gear and they’re always asking you questions? Or maybe they’ve been asking for their own kit? Either way, spend some time with your kids talking through the kit. You may even want to pop to local waters to show them how to cast or set up their rods. You could think about going and doing this at your favorite fishing spot, but sometimes simple instructions are best off to start.

  1. Take Them Fishing For The Weekend

Next, you may be ready to take your kids fishing. If they’re keen to go, then why not choose a local lake or river that you know will be easy for them to catch at? You may even want to go for an afternoon just to test the waters. Either way, going out fishing at the weekend as a family is a great opportunity for you to bond and enjoy some time on the bank.

  1. Watch A Fishing Tournament Together

As something a little different, you could think about taking your kids to a local fishing tournament or event. If you know that there’s a lot going on around your area, or there’s a particular tournament that you want to go to, this could be the perfect opportunity.

  1. Book A Fishing Trip

For something fun to do as a family, why not all go on a day or weekend trip together? Not only could you all head out to your favorite lake for the weekend, you could look to do fishing charters in the area or on vacation. Just think about what kind of trip is going to work out best for your family dynamics and allow you to introduce your passion to them in the best way.

  1. Head To A Lakefront Log Cabin

Finally, you may even want to do something with just you and the wife. If you want to spend some quality time with her and show her just how relaxing and enjoyable fishing can be, a romantic weekend away to a log cabin could be great. You’ll get to fish, she can relax, and you’ll get some time away together too.

Remember to keep on slaying,

See you next time xoxo
