Welcome Back Boo,
Ready for the Cup Final?
Big house moves can be really exciting for you, but they can also be really scary and daunting. You crave that New start, but the idea of packing everything up and undertaking that move is not easy. You will need to think carefully about how you should prepare for it in order to ensure this whole thing doesn’t become too much for you to take on. A little preparation really can go a long way, so read on to find out more about how to prepare for the move.
Create an Inventory
First of all, you should create an inventory because this will allow you to get a clear picture of everything you have and everything that needs to be moved when you leave your home and head to your new one. In doing this, you will also be able to start formulating your packing strategy, so get thinking which things you can be packed together securely and logically.
Label Your Boxes Properly
Once you’ve done the packing of your boxes, you need to make sure that they’re all properly labelled because a failure to do this will make your life so much harder than it needs to be later on. You don’t want to be left guessing when you reach your new home and have a load of unlabelled boxes on your hands. It just makes the whole process ten times harder.
Plan for Where Your Kids & Pets Will be on Moving Day
The day of the move is going to be pretty stressful, but it’s only going to be more stressful if you have children and animals running around and causing more chaos. Ideally, you should ask someone in the family to look after your kids and any pets you might have on the day of the move. It’s something that will make your life a lot easier.
Move Some Stuff Into Storage in Advance
If you don’t want to take everything with you, you could always move some of your possessions into storage. This is a better option that taking things with you because you don’t have to worry about it until a later date, and it simply means that you don’t have to take quite as much with you when you move. Magenta self storage is an option to consider if you want to put stuff into storage.
Stay in Regular Contact With Your Movers
Finally, you need to make sure that you communicate well with the professionals who are going to be carrying out the move for you. Keeping them in the loop and letting them know of any changes is going to be really important, so don’t ignore this matter.
Moving house is stressful at the best of times, so you want to make sure that you’re as prepared and ready as you can be for when that big day finally does come around. You will find the whole process much less stressful if you prepare now rather than leaving things until the last minute.
Remember to keep on slaying,
See you next time xoxo
